Legal Experience
- Scott Nakama represents employers and employees in claims involving employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, overtime, meal breaks, and class actions. He also advises employers on properly classifying its workers as employees, independent contractors, and/or interns. Scott has represented various clients including assisted living homes, an executive director of a nonprofit corporation, engineers, professors, and restaurant staff. Scott’s past experience includes assisting a workplace investigator with her investigations of employment discrimination and whistleblowing. In addition, Scott has worked for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Scott was a co-founder of a start-up social media polling company. During law school, Scott drafted summary judgment opinions for multiple Equal Employment Opportunity Commission administrative judges in employment discrimination complaints.
